Hello readers,
March has been busy with good progress, and I won’t be slowing down in April. As the first quarter of the year closes, it’s both exciting and unnerving how much is left to do before my first novel is released.
Update
I’ve been making my way through the comments from my beta readers. It was an interesting exercise, as most aren’t avid sci-fi readers, but it was very helpful for receiving feedback on the overall story. Many had the same questions and suggestions, which I’ve taken on board for improvement. Some had very strong opinions about the main characters, but to my relief many had different favourite and least favourite characters which I think is a win.
Plan
I have a few more days until the novel is sent off for copyediting and proofreading. I’ll finish making the penultimate changes and then wait for the final polishing. I’ve spent so long writing this that it’s hard to imagine it being so close to completion. I’m also intrigued to see how much changes with this final polish.
Whilst it’s undergoing copyediting/proofreading, I’ll be updating my social media pages. I’m thinking Facebook and Instagram will be the primary media I use, but as always my website and newsletter are the best places to receive updates.
If time permits, I’ll even start progressing on the second novel. I’ve been having some good ideas for the next two books, but I do need to start writing out what’s going to happen.
Cool science
NASA has released a series of images acquired from a range of telescopes to celebrate Spring in the northern hemisphere. (These images are equally inspiring for those entering autumn.) These stellar nurseries can have a lot of background gas and dust, making it difficult to see deeper within. This is where X-rays can be particularly useful, as they can penetrate and provide further insight. The readings of different telescopes can then be overlaid to combine images, creating these great pieces of art.
Only love,
