ℹ️ How it works & Data Sources

What You're Seeing: Real-time tracking of eclipse events across three worlds. Each visualisation shows the moon's orbital position, countdown to the next transit, and—during an eclipse—the shadow cast on the planet's surface.

How It Works: Earth's moon displays accurate phases based on the current lunar cycle (synced with Feb 17, 2026 new moon). Mars's Phobos and Jupiter's Io follow their real orbital periods—7h 39m and 42.5h respectively. Eclipse timing and durations use NASA Eclipse Web Service and Project Pluto Digital Ephemeris data to illustrate the scale of planetary transits. Everything runs locally in your browser.
